Time's Running Out! Make your end of year gift today!
It seems unbelievable that 2009 is almost over, which means that it is the season for friends, family, cooking, decorating, resolutions, and, of course, end-of-year giving. There is still time to make your gift to help our young people, like Antione and Patricia, this year. And if you still have a few people left on your Christmas gift, making a donation in their honor is a meaningful and lasting gift.
When you think about your final charitable gift for this year, don’t forget that Michigan has a special tax incentive for those donating to organizations, like Covenant House Michigan, that help the homeless. This incentive states that Michigan residents who donate are eligible for a 50% tax credit. This is limited to a gift of $200 ($100 credit) for individuals and $400 ($200 credit) for those filing joint returns. Make sure that you get your donation into us by December 31 to take advantage of this on your 2009 taxes.
