Six nights a week, the Outreach Van visits some of the most distressed neighborhoods of Detroit, seeking out prostitutes, drug dealers and gang members in hopes of saving a life. These disconnected kids are found in abandoned houses, cars and on street corners among other places. Many youth end up on the wrong path due to circumstances beyond their control.

The Outreach team establishes trusting relationships and offers youth alternatives to their desperate situations. The team provides on-the-spot assistance such as food, personal hygiene kits and/or minor medical attention. Many of these young adults need additional assistance and referrals in which case they are transported to the Community Service Centers or the Crisis Center.
