Meet Curtis

“I’m pretty much abandoned.” That’s what Curtis, a 21 year old Crisis Center resident said when I asked him about his family. His mother is an addict and Curtis said that his childhood was spent helplessly watching as she got abused by the many men she was involved with. She reacted to this by verbally abusing her four children. Curtis never knew his dad.

We all know 2009 was a tough year for Michigan, so we're extremely grateful for the support you gave us this past year. 2010 promises to be a brighter year for most, but the reality is that Michigan's most vulnerable, the underserved young, will be the last to feel any recovery. Many more young people will end up on the dangerous streets this year, and have to fight for survival. Please take a minute to read Curtis's story. I wish I could say that this was unusual, but most of our kids have similar stories.

Valentine's Weekend Open House

Thank you to everyone who came out mid-February to our open house. We were amazed at the turn-out! A big thank you to all the groups who came out to make a difference. One young volunteer shared his thoughts from the day with us.

Become a Covenant Parent

Covenant House Michigan relies on the support of friends like you. Most of our kids never knew their parents and those who did were abused or neglected by them. Our kids are receiving love for the first time from our staff and volunteers. But we need you to become part of our extended family to make sure our kids continue to receive the love and support they deserve. Commit to giving a monthly donation - plus learn about one of our favorite residents.
