Reeko

Reeko, age 23, came to CHM four years ago. During that time, he was diagnosed as a schizophrenic. CHM’s staff reestablished treatment for him and applied for Social Security Insurance (SSI). Staff advocated on behalf of Reeko for two years before receiving a hearing. Reeko not only received SSI, but also won two years of back payments. In addition, staff were able to get Reeko subsidized housing not too far from CHM’s main campus. Staff helped Reeko buy supplies and necessities for his new place.

“Thank you Ms. Norma, Jesse, Stephanie and Ms. Johnson for all your help!” exclaimed Reeko. “I am so happy to have my first apartment.”

Reeko continues to attend GED classes on campus and is doing exceptionally well.
