Darryl

Darryl came home the other day for a visit. Yes, home!

In 1999, Darryl came home to CHM every day. He lived in our Crisis Center for seven months. During that time, he prepared for and obtained his GED, got a job at SBC Security and, eventually, saved $1,200 for first and last months' rent. Today, he is playing semi-pro football for the Detroit Seminoles and is building a partnership to co-own his uncle’s landscaping company. Darryl is also engaged to a girl he met six years ago at our Crisis Center. They were to be married in June, 2006.

Darryl is very proud of his accomplishments and thanks CHM for teaching him responsibility and independence. “They were tough on us, we had to straighten up and listen to the rules. Nobody was here to spoil us, they wanted to make sure we got our act together,” said Darryl. “CHM wanted me to succeed.” And what a success he is!
