Danielle, Crisis Resident spoke about her experiences at CHM. “When I arrived here almost five months ago, I was unsure about where my life was going. Stuck in the mindset that no one cared about me, I was ready to give up on life,” stated Danielle. She was very reluctant to come to CHM.

“It wasn’t until I met the staff here at Covenant House, that I began to change how I felt. I received love and a family environment I never knew existed; where Carlos became the father figure I could only dream of having; and Ms. Porter was that living mother figure I yearned for my whole life. Covenant House Crisis Center staff have been exceptionally caring and welcomed me with their warm hearts. For that, I am forever grateful,” continued Danielle.

“It is because of the generosity of the donors and everyone who supports Covenant House Michigan, that I am able to have a place to call my home. It is because of your kindness and concern that I am no longer at risk of belonging to the streets. It is because of you, that my life has changed for the good.”

Danielle recently graduated to CHM's Rights of Passage program and is attending Wayne County Community College.
