Brandon
Brandon had little value for school at a young age. He started skipping and didn’t have the ambition to do well. He was eventually placed in detention to correct the behavior. When he was released he was sent back home to live with his mom. She became very sick and died within weeks.
Brandon was sent to foster care and became very depressed. He began using illegal substances to cope with the pain. He was moved into various programs, continued going to school and graduated. He aged out of the foster care system and was left with nowhere to stay. He lived in cars, friend’s apartments, parks, and any place he could find shelter. He stole money to pay for his food.
Brandon found Covenant House, left, returned, and left again. As the saying goes, the third time is a charm. Each time Brandon left CHM he felt that he could take care of himself, but relationship problems and the lack of financial resources put him back on the street. He admits he has a lot of anger about losing his mom and is trying to cope with life.
Brandon is extremely creative and attends the International Academy of Design and Technology in Troy where he studies Game Design and Digital Media. We try to excuse his ambition to transfer to Ohio State to obtain his business degree.
