About Ron Shahani:

Ravinder (Ron) Shahani is President and CEO of Acro Services Corp. with headquarters in Livonia, Michigan. As a young undergraduate student living in India, Ron made the bold and life changing decision to leave family and friends behind and pursue an MBA degree in the United States. Ron received his MBA from the University of Detroit in 1977 after which he went to work for Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst until 1982.

Acro Service Corp. was born in 1982 when hard times were besieging the automotive industry. Ron found the opportunity to provide this industry with a talented and competent variable cost alternative. What started out as one man’s opportunistic idea has now blossomed into a large and diverse corporation with over 20 offices in the United States and additional offices in England and India.

Acro provides staff augmentation, outsourcing, and consulting services in information technology, engineering and design, and professional and office administration services to the world’s leading organizations including Fortune 500 companies like General Motors, Ford Motor Company, DaimlerChrysler, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and government entities like NASA.

Ron has received several awards including Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award in Staffing and Consulting in 2003. In 2005, Ron was recognized by Crainsdetroit.com as one of the business leaders who are at the top of their industry in Crain’s first Who’s Who in Detroit Business list. The Detroit Regional Chamber honored Ron in 2007 as the Emerging Global Leader. In 2008, Corp! Magazine recognized Ron as an Honoree of its Entrepreneurs of Distinction Award. In 2009, Crain’s List of Largest Asian-Owned Businesses ranked Acro as the 4th largest in Southeast Michigan. In 2010, Acro was an Honoree of Corp! Magazine’s Business of Science and Technology.

Ron is on the board of directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce. He is a Henry Ford Health System Trustee and a member of Henry Ford Hospital Multicultural Dermatology Center’s Advisory Council, and a supporter of many other civic and charitable organizations.

Ron and his wife, Chris, and their two sons, Rajiv and Sanjeev, reside in Northville, Michigan.
