About Chelsea Carballo:

Chelsea Carballo is a native of Tucson, Arizona. Chelsea and her family witnessed the jarring effects of homelessness through personal experience with an aunt. As a result of this experience she volunteered for many years at Casa de Los Ninos, a Tucson shelter for abused and neglected children.

After moving to Michigan with her husband she continued her commitment to addressing homelessness by volunteering at the Doorstep Homeless Shelter. While at Doorstep Homeless Shelter she worked on intakes and assisted in client caseloads.

Chelsea is drawn to the Covenant House Mission. Over the years she has been involved with and attended many Covenant House Michigan events.

Chelsea attended Pima Community College where she studied nursing. She is actively involved with many activities and volunteers weekly at her children’s schools.

Chelsea and her husband, Tom, a local morning radio personality, are active in many community service endeavors and are major supporters and boosters for Detroit and the metropolitan area. They have three sons and reside in West Bloomfield.

She was appointed a member of the Covenant House Michigan Board of Directors in May 2011.
