Why didn't they care? - part 2

Sorry it's been awhile. I got a job at McDonalds so I have been a little busy.

Like I said, they turned their backs, like nothing bad was happening to us.

Finally, we were taken away from our Dad. By the time I was 13, we began moving. We moved back and forth from relatives houses between Michigan and Tennessee. At age 16, I was officially considered an adult in Tennessee even though I had mental disabilities that prevented me from reading, writing or doing math at the proper grade level. They try to get you on your own as soon as possible and it's bad because I wasn't ready.

I moved into a semi-independent living programs and was able to receive my high school diploma. Yeay!

But when I turned 18, it was time to leave and I had nowhere to go.
