Why didn't they care about what was happening to us?

My mother and father were first cousins. I was the seventh of nine children, three of my siblings were triplets. My Mom was really overweight and unable to parent. She died when I was eight.

My dad was an alcoholic and he used to hurt us. He burned me with cigarettes. He abused us sexually too. My dad made my sister pregnant.

But nobody cared. People new this was happening, but no one said anything. They just turned their back on us.
