CHM Joins in Neighborhood Beautification Day 2010

June 30, 2010 - 3:23pm

The 4th Annual Neighborhood Beautification Day proved that positive things are happening in Detroit! Over 350 volunteers came out and diligently worked towards making Detroit greener and more attractive. Volunteers came from all over metro Detroit, in order to help Southwest Housing Solutions’ tenants, partners, donors and staff.

On June 5, volunteers planted gardens and trees, landscaped, cleared overgrown shrubs, removed and painted over graffiti, painted a colorful mural and helped out in many other ways. Our very own Covenant House Michigan staff and youth volunteered their time in beautifying Detroit. While all the volunteers worked hard, everyone truly enjoyed themselves. Their smiles were as bright as freshly painted murals. The positive energy, laughs and love displayed at the Neighborhood Beautification Day, proved that Detroit is on the right track to becoming a more beautiful city.
